The Empire has discovered a GA base on the Mid Rim planet Orinda. They cannot be allowed to have a base of operations so close to the Empire. They must be wiped out.

Here's the trick. An orbital assault is impossible due to an advanced planetary shield generator and an advanced planetary ion cannon protecting the base. Plus the base is hidden deep beneath the mountain. A ground assault is the only option. It is well defended with both stationary emplacements and ground troops. The goal is to take the base because they are working on both an advanced anti-orbital weapons platform and a new ground vehicle. However, the GA is going to try and destroy the resaerch on both, so you'll have to pick which one to save.
