Take a look and see what you think:

Warlords get 5 planets to start out with. 1 Metropolis, 2 Industrial, 1 primitive, and one Basic.

total fleet limit of 140 kms of ships.

They Get all 140 kms of ships at their start up.

Warlord Template:

Name:
Planets (starting with capital)
Faction: (This is the faction that the Warlord broke from. Can be Imperial, GA, or Neutral. This will determine what ships you will have available. Also if you start Imperial, for example, you will start out at war with the Empire.)

Things to remember:

Warlords get Two months protection, or 10 planetary attacks. What this means is your capital, and original 5 planets will not be able to be attacked until either two months pass, or you attack 10 planets. Any planets you conquer during your protecton period CAN be attacked.

Please add more...I just ran into a serious lack of ideas.

The only other thing steve is that i think we had that the faction leader can block certain ships from being used. At the beginning it probably wont be a big deal but later on it might when a few new designs come in.

By the power invested in my torpedos, I now pronounce you DEAD.

The only other thing I would put in there is that when we get warlords, they don't automatically get the tech upgrades that their "parent" faction had.

There should be something else to Warlords.. such as for instance, if your in the R&D area of your parent faction, or perhaps even a Admiral or General, that you can 'prep' time to leave. So, for instance if one of your 'bases' is going to be, Hoth, for an example. You can start to use Imperial funds to set up a small base there, with those loyal to you rather then imperial troops, before breaking off..

Or, say, your an Admiral, and you command the Command fleet 2, and the Emperor gets assassinated. Emperors right hand gets control, but you feel YOU have legitiment claim over the Empire, you become a Warlord fation, but instead of geting five planets as stated, you start with Imperial worlds that agree with you, as well as the fleet you command.

Just some ideas about that...

We have tried that before, and it tends to kill factions. This way all warlords get equal footing.

I also updated the Warlord rules to show that they can either get one faction or none depending on the discresion of the parent faction leader.
